The Shortest Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, "Will you marry me?" The girl

said "No" and she lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis

with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closet

full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny and was never farted on.

Withdraw From Sunshine and Relaxation

Well after spending three weeks in Florida, Dennis and I are back to reality. We had absolutely great weather the whole time we were there. I miss the daily routine of relaxing by the pool while we decide what we will do for the day. Or just kicking back at the pool and playing Dominoes.

We shared our holiday with Herb, Rita, Ruth and Norm. We all had many laughs and a few ackward moments that we can all look back at in the future.

We had a snow storm before we left for Florida and when we returned the snoew was all gone........I just love that.

Find Unclaimed Bank Accounts

I have posted a link to Bank of Canada's website where you can search unclaimed bank accounts. It is interesting sometimes what comes up when you type in a last name and search it. If just by chance your name comes up you can go and claim it.

I found this site about 7 years ago through my boss Peter. His daughter searched his name one day and it came up having close to $2,800 in an account. He got the instruction off the website on how to claim it and got it all back.

Have fun, hope you find that lost family fortune!

Dennis's Blog Centeral Comand Post

The After Math of Christmas

It's all out the door
right to the street
in bags and boxes
but all nice and neat.
That is all that is
left of our Christmas
that was such a treat.

I look around our livingroom and recall what it looked like last week before Christmas day. All the gifts wrapped and stacked neatly under the tree. Christmas day is all a blurr now. Dennis and I have had the week off between Christmas and New Years. We have done absolutely nothing but relax and visiting. I guess we both were ready for a break from work.

If you catch the posting below I got a new camera for Christmas so hopefully this will increase the postings. One thing is there will be more pictures of Dennis since he did all the hiding behind the camera before.

Happy Year all and all the Best for 2007

The Meaning of Santa Claus

Santa Claus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Santa Claus.
Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply Santa, is a legendary gift-giving icon who distributes presents to sleeping children and adults who have been "good" all year; traditionally during the night of December 24, Christmas Eve. The popular American form Santa Claus originated as a mispronunciation of Dutch Sinterklaas, which is a contracted form of Sint Nicolaas (Saint Nicholas).
Father Christmas is a well-loved figure in many countries and predates the Santa Claus character. Father Christmas is similar in many ways, though the two have quite different origins. Using Santa in places that predominantly call him Father Christmas may be viewed as an Americanism, although they are generally regarded as the same character. Father Christmas (and in some cases baby Jesus) is also present instead of Santa in Afghanistan ("Baba Chaghaloo"), Albania ("Babadimri"), Armenia ("Gaghant Baba"), Brazil ("Papai Noel"), Bulgaria ("Dyado Koleda"), Chile (Viejo Pascuero), Denmark ("Julemanden"), Egypt ("Papa Noël"), Finland ("Joulupukki"), France and French Canada ("le Père Noël"), Germany ("Weihnachtsmann" or "Nikolaus"),Greece "Άγιος Βασίλης-Άyos Vasílis" Hungary ("Mikulás"), Iran ("Baba Noel"), Ireland ("Daidí na Nollag"), Italy ("Babbo Natale"), Latvia ("Ziemassvētku vecītis"), Lithuania ("Kalėdų Senelis"), Malta ("San Niklaw"), Mexico ("El Niñito Dios" ("Child God", meaning Jesus)), Norway ("Julenissen"), Poland ("Święty Mikołaj"), Portugal ("Pai Natal"), Romania ("Moş Crăciun"), Russia ("Ded Moroz"), Scottish Highlands ("Daidaín na Nollaig"), Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Deda Mraz"), South Africa ("Vader Kersfees"), Spain and some of Spanish-speaking Latin America ("Papá Noel" or "San Nicolás" or "Santa Claus" ), Sweden ("Jultomten"), Turkey ("Noel Baba"), and the United Kingdom ("Father Christmas").

Christmas the Celebration

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. His birth changed the whole world. Jesus was born in the little town of Bethlehem in Israel over 2,000 years ago; His mother was the virgin Mary. When He was born, an angel proclaimed to shepherds in the field "Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."

When Jesus was born, some people welcomed Him; some ignored Him; and some rejected Him. There was no room for Him at the inn in Bethlehem, so the Son of God was laid in a manger where animals stayed. Even today, some people welcome Christ and some ignore or reject Him. Jesus came to earth to be our Savior and to die to pay the penalty for our sins. Here is how you can welcome Christ as your Lord and Savior into your life.

Lost That Blogging Feeling

Well it happened I lost the desire to blog for a bit. I hope I haven't had many visitors to the site....and for those who did stop by sorry for the lack of new postings.

Well Dennis and I are off to Las Vegas this weekend for a week long holiday. We will have company on this trip Ruth and Norm will be joining us. I have never been there before so I am finding myself really excited this week as we get closer to take off time. I am sure there will be a few pictures and stories to tell once we get back.

On the Sunday after we return the family will be gathering for the spreading of my Mother's ashes. She requested that they be spread at Websters Falls in Greensville. The falls is located not far from where we lived as the family grew. I find Websters Falls to be a place with a calming affect on me. As a child I spent many weekends exploring the wooded areas and climbing up and down the falls edge. I have many fond memories of this place and now it will be even more special to visit.

I hope all is well with everyone and I will be posting on the trip soon.

NUMBING

With the note worthy news about Mark Foley-Republican Congressman sending young teens sexually explicit electronic messages. Also that he personally was the co-chair of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Canucus. It leaves me stunned as to what is going on out there is the world. I had thought it through at the time I read about it in the paper. Then again when I was watching The View today and the subject was discussed. In my mind I realize how trouble this is but I had a real awakening when I was surfing the web tonight. All these years of being on the Internet surfing, chatting and now blogging I heard about child pornography. As I was randomly surfing blogs tonight there it was for the first time in my life the most horrifying site I had ever seen. It was a random blog that I just happened to hit on.....as I write this my mind is spinning....I just don't know how to say it....I am close to tears thinking about it....I thought I had a open mind about world happenings and the sickooooosssss out there....I guess I don't

The image of a little girl about 9 or 10 naked. I wasn't sure at first how to react so in disbelief I scrolled down the page...it only got worst
little children in sexual acts with an adult male and eventually an adult women.
I sat there stunned and then I went numb....I didn't know what to do I felt angered and confused. With Dennis being away I had one one to tell or even ask what to do, so I reacted the only way my mind would handle it at the moment. On the tool bar some of the blogs have the option to tell the owner the content is unacceptable by clicking the button......so I did and then I quickly clicked the selection to take me to the next random blog I clicked it over and over and over again to get far away from it as I could.

Now I sit here two hours later still sick over what I saw and thinking to myself I wish I knew how to report this to someone. Who do I tell....

Where is Paradise

My ideal of Paradise is a place so beautiful that you feel like never leaving it. Paradise would be a place you would share with the one you love. Sometimes Paradise is right there before you and you don't recongnize it. Paradise could be laying in your lovers arms, not saying a word and knowing that you love each other...Ohhhh how I wish I could be in Paradise.........

Somedays I wish the day would end quickly or perhaps even a week. Today is one of those days...I am feeling really blue about my life, things have just got the best of me right now. My attitude should be "Put Your Big Girl panties on and deal with it!" but I just can't seem to shake the blues.

I stop to think why...there is so many things that I know of and I don't know how to change them to make it better.

I reflect.....and my thoughts go too...I am deeply sadden in the lack of affection in my relationship, I feel needy and insecure, the frustration built up from not knowing where to turn next or what to say or do without pissing Dennis off he is anrgy with me 80% of the time now, the feeling that my relationship with Dennis has turned toxic makes me scared...he hates me being around him...the way I breath... how I chew my food...my smoking...my voice annoys him...the way I move in bed to get comfortable...the fact I have problems sleeping at night...the way I drive makes him mad...how I close the door on his truck...the subjects I talk about...me being on the computer...how I leave newspaper in the bathroom...how I am senstive...the list goes on and on. I feel the lack of respect people in my life have for me, hurt that no one wants to know anything about me or the things that interest me, I hate being the one they put down thinking that they are being funny, I hate the way I look right now with all this extra weight on, my hearing, my speech, my aches and pains from my shoulders to my toes, the feeling that I don't belong any where or have a place to call home, worrying about not being able to attend the spreading of my mothers ashes, and not being able to get a good sleep hanging on the edge of the bed since Dennis started to get mad in bed if I touched him.

OK so I am having a pity party all by myself! ISN'T THAT THE BEST WAY. I thought so because who cares anyways

New York City Adventure

On September 13 at 4:30 am Dennis and myself board a bus in a soccer field in the town of Port Dover. The bus had 50 passengers all heading for a weekend to New York, NY. The adventure started early but we were all on board and ready to go. We reached the USA boarder about 6:30am and were the first bus to arrive for the day, we were assigned bus number 1. After grabbing breakfast and going through the process of getting clearance we were on our way again. There were a few stops along the way for quick meals, power smoking and washroom relief.

We arrived to our hotel in New Jersey just across the river from Manhattan Island about 3:30pm and checked in. We were all instructed to be back down to the bus for our first adventure into the city at 5:30pm. Off we all went. The bus drove through Lincoln Tunnel which was 2 miles long under the Hudson River towards our first view of the city.

They took us to 42nd Street to the Empire State Building. This is where Macy's Department store is located. We all ventured around for a bit till it was our scheduled time to go up the tower.

Eight o'clock hit and we all met back at Empire State building and begin the climb up to see the full view of the city. The first observation deck is on the 80 something floor. The view from up there was amazing I was in awwwwwww with the size of the city and all its towers. After we all reloaded on the bus they drove us through Time Square at night. All the lights flashing and the crowds in this area is overwhelming.

We covered allot of area in a weekend, ohhh not to mention did allot of window shopping. I must tell you hidden in the back streets of New York is purse heaven. I must tell you the purse story. Our guide Lee took us to Canal Street where there is allot of shopping. This is where China Town and Little Italy are located as well. The bus stopped and we all started to get off. I got ahead of Dennis so when I stepped off I went to the side to wait for him. I no more then a minute a Chinese lady started flashing pictures at me of designer purses and she kept repeating purses you want purses. I nodded my head yes and commanded "Come come" while waving her hands in her directions. I told her I had to wait for more people at that moment Dennis, Nick and Sherry stepped off the bus and I wave to them. In about one second flat she was right over to Sherry showing her the same pictures and asking her if she wanted to come and get purses. Sherry looked over at me and we both nodded at the same time YES! The Chinese lady was speaking on a walkies talkie to someone telling them that she had four people and started to guide us where they were. I had this small shop visioned in my mind but to my surprise she was leading us down an alley and into the back door of a restaurant. Once we were into the building and the door was shut she lead us down two floors into the basement of the building. She checked that all doors were shut and no one else was following us. Once she knew all was clear she opened this secret door to a room of purses. We all stepped in and she quickly closed the door behind us. You wouldn't believe all the designer purses (knock offs) that were in the room. Sherry and myself were almost giddy and smiling ear to ear. Well after almost forty five minutes in this purse room I walked away with three of them, Sherry got two. The Chinese lady took us back out side and pointed to the direction we need to get back and we were off again.
Next posting I will tell more about this adventure. Just in case I don't get back soon we are off for our next adventure October 21 to Las Vegas, Nevada
